Goals of the Business Strategic and Sustainability Department

The goal of the Business Strategic Sustainability Department is to make sure that all our FIRST robotics teams are sustained and to expand and offer robotics and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) programs to youth in our community and the surrounding areas.

What We Have Done
- We wrote a grant for $20,000 but it was given to another organization, we will try again next year
- We acquired a space to start our Robotics and Innovation Center for youth in our community
- We successfully reached out to local business like Stop and Shop, Costco, Pizza Place to sponsor our events via a food donation or a gift card to purchase food
- We recently acquired confirmation of a partnership with UTC and Branson for Engineering mentors, we are also being considered for sponsorship in 2018
- We mentor 3 FLLJR teams, one is an all girls team
- We mentored 4 FLL teams , one is an all girls team
- We added 10 team members to our FLLJR and FLL Teams from our free summer camp
- We have increased our team membership from 7 team members to 13 team members this year
What We Plan To Do (Initiatives)
- We plan to have at least one BSSP Outreach Event per month, like Panera’s, Chipotle, Bounce, Outback, etc.,.
- We plan to find other Grants
- We plan to seek out additional sponsorships and partnerships from other local businesses like the Lions Club or The Rotary International Club as well as additional Engineering companies.
- We plan to put together a sponsorship package
- We will recruit volunteers and sponsors for the January FTC qualifier we are hosting
- We will continue to mentor FLL and FLLJR ages kids as part of our sustainability plan
- We will continue to expand the creation of FIRST teams as we did with the Home school tram in Bethel CT
